Illustration Friday - Proverb - "Twin Flames"
Whatever our souls are made of,
his and mine are the same.
Emily Brontë
Twin Flames |
This week's illustration / painting is something I drew long ago...
There was a period in my life where my obsession was to read, devour, memorise any book, poem and research about twin souls or twin flames. Some websites mention that twin souls are different than twin flames, or your soul mate. The list of names for the One in one's life seems endless. That was during the time when I was single and getting depressed that I would never find my own twin flame...
So I drew this...
Twin Flames - closeup |
These are two souls who have met finally after millenia of separation, galaxies and light years away from each other, each exploring their own path and learning their own lessons. The fusion is said to be so great that they will burst into flames and into a big ball of bright light. Such is the beauty and power of love.
Some people have told me that they look like lesbians hugging each other. I say that the spirit does not have bodies that are too different from each other - the male and the female, the yin and the yang, the two polarities into which souls must learn to merge into one again. On Earth terms, I prefer to call the "male" spirit androgynous-looking; just because the lines are drawn sinuously, doesn't mean that the male is a female...
Then again, I do like ambiguity in my art.
Twin Flames - Sun |
They met again on the planet on which they separated - the planet of two dying suns. The planet is long gone, empty and void of life. But their souls remember from which they came from, and they flew swiftly there to meet their loved one. And there tears of joy and sadness flowed, for they have been separated for far too long.
Twin flames - the energy of life merging again, polarities become one.
